There are plenty of ways to find sex in Berlin.
The capital of Germany is home to around 3.9 million people and put up 12.4 million hotel guests last year. Amongst the tourists enjoying the city’s wide range of cultural and architectural delights, there is a growing number of people coming to Berlin to sample Germany’s thriving sex scene.
One of the reasons for that is simple: paid sex is completely legal here. Germany licensed the trade years ago, and Berlin has a large version of it. This Berlin sex guide covers escorts, brothels, the street scene, strip clubs, massage rooms, sex clubs, shops and a few extras…
Berlin’s Adult Entertainment
Sex and Prostitution In Berlin

Prostitution in Germany is entirely legal and is a fully regulated and licensed industry.
As a result, prostitution is common in the cities and, for most, is an accepted and tolerated part of modern life.
Though the industry wasn’t fully regulated and legalised until 2001, brothels and sex saunas have been a common sight in the city from the early 1960s and 1970s.
From a sex worker’s perspective, the 2017 Prostitute Protection Act (ProstSchG) has turned the trade into a formal job… with paperwork attached. Sex workers have to navigate Berlin’s exacting requirements: a health consultation, an Anmeldebescheinigung, a condom rule, and a licence for anyone running a house, an FKK, an escort desk or a prostitution-based business.
For punters, life goes on undistracted. You can walk into a licensed house, book an independent off the (many) escort directories, or stand on Kurfürstenstraße and negotiate on the pavement. The only real caveat is that condoms are a legal duty – designed to protect the industry as a whole.
Ignore them as a client and the fine can run to €50,000 – though, of course, an underground market exists, particularly with VIP/GFE companions.
The most popular ways to pay for sex in Berlin are:
- Independent and agency escorts (hotel and home visits)
- Laufhäuser, apartment salons and small licensed houses
- FKK Artemis, which, remarkably is the city’s only full-size sauna club
- Street work on Kurfürstenstraße
- Erotic massage studios and walk-up rooms
- Swinger and fetish clubs, with a very active Lifestyle scene
Despite reports of up to 50,000 sex workers active in Berlin, the “official” records are much more conservative.
Berlin’s filing on the Land table is 1,705, with a footnote that those are 2024 figures because the city missed the previous deadline. We managed to source a parliamentary answer the following year which puts the numbers cleaner: 1,267 registered on 31 May 2024, 1,608 at year-end, 1,947 on 30 June 2025.
Mid-2026 figures put the count at 2,224 officially registered sex workers in Berlin. Licensed prostitution businesses in the city: 92.
Interesting statistics, yes… but they do not count for the massive “unofficial” market, notably escort directories and classified sites where hundreds of ads are present for Berlin at any given time.
Nationwide only 18% of registered workers hold a German passport. The three largest foreign groups are Romanian (35%), Bulgarian (11%) and Spanish (9%). Berlin’s mid-2025 Senate snapshot looked more German on paper: 691 German, 243 Romanian, 190 Ukrainian, 160 Bulgarian, 92 Polish.
Much of this is to be expected. It’s often the local German girls that will do things “by the books”, with a larger foreign presence in the underground (and undocumented) market.
Street work is legal across much of Berlin, with the usual federal bans near schools and playgrounds, which is why a residential stretch of Schöneberg still functions as an open Strich.
The CDU spent 2026 trying to change that. Stettner and Senge pushed a city-wide street ban and a “kriminalitätsbelasteter Ort” tag for the Kurfürstenkiez. At the time of writing, no ban is in force.
Meanwhile, sex workers are coming up with all new ways to destigmatise the profession…
The prices charged for full service vary considerably around the city depending on where you go (proximity to work area), the time of day and the kind of service you want.
Escort Industry
Berlin has no shortage of escorts and they vary in age, ethnicity, shape, size and physical attributes.
You can engage the services of an escort directly from an agency or via a directory of independent women. Some escorts advertised in the free classifieds whilst others use the services of sites which provide verification services. This offers punters some guarantees on quality of the girls’ credentials and some sites even provide reviews.
Most of the work now arrives on a phone: hotel visits, home visits, the occasional incall in a private apartment.
We’ve got a long directory of agencies, independents and the usual caveats in our Berlin Escorts Guide.
Going rates:
Most mid-list independents and agencies charge €150-€250 an hour. The prettier Mitte and Charlottenburg outcalls push €250-€400. That band lines up with Frankfurt, but is generally quite a bit cheaper than Munich. Budget listings on the classifieds start lower but YMMV; take the photos with a pinch of salt.
As for popular directories, Ladies.de is still one of the Berlin defaults. Kaufmich, Erobella (890+ active listings) and the international directories all receive a ton of local traffic.
One thing to keep in mind is that many four-star hotels will not send a guest upstairs. So agree on a suitable address before anybody gets in a taxi – to avoid embarrassment!
Berlin Brothels
The Berlin brothel scene is famously large.
You’ve got one full-size FKK, then Laufhäuser and apartment salons from Charlottenburg across Schöneberg into Neukölln, Pankow and the south.
Addresses by district are covered in our guide to the Best Berlin Brothels & Laufhäuser. Start there if you’re looking to map the city’s best full-service venues.
FKK / Sauna Clubs
FKK clubs are another German institution, combining full service with spa facilities: you’ve got a buffet, a pool or hamam, and independent women working the floors who negotiate their own rates. Other cities like Frankfurt and Stuttgart have clusters of them.
Berlin runs just one at full size… but nearly everyone in Europe has heard of it!
FKK Artemis
Halenseestraße 32-36, 10711 Berlin
S-Bahn Halensee / Westkreuz

Yes, the famous old white slab by the A100 at Westkreuz, open since 2005. Inside you’ll find four floors, an indoor and outdoor pool, hamam, two erotic cinemas, a restaurant, gym, about 30 service rooms, and a combined 2,900 m² space for adult play.
It is the closest thing Berlin has to a destination brothel.
Official door is updated regularly on the house tariff page: currently €90 as a day ticket, in and out until the small hours. Soft drinks included, breakfast buffet 11:00-15:00, dinner 18:00-02:00. Taxi drivers and pensioners pay €50 on Sunday and Monday.
Daily 11:00-05:00, closed 24, 25, 31 December and 1 January.
The house also prints a masseur card (€40 / 30 min, €50 / 40, €60 / 50) and a hammam price. It does not print a sex tariff because the women are exclusively independents. Meaning, you have to negotiate the cost of FS separately.
Forum reports still sit around €70 / 30 minutes… more if you negotiate badly. All-in for one short session is therefore roughly €160-€180… and that’s before anyone gets to the bar.
Full walkthrough: Inside Artemis Berlin.
In February 2026 the Tagesspiegel reported operator plans to pull the building down for a 200-metre “Messeturm / Expo Tower.” Those plans were still with the Baukollegium in the spring. For now, the club is very much alive and kicking with a busy schedule of events.
Other Berlin FKK options over the years have dwindled. La Folie on Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße, Club 77 on Kantstraße and Cleopatra Berlin are now closed.
Our national FKK list currently lists Artemis as Berlin’s only full-size sauna club.
Laufhäuser, Salons, Apartment Houses
Artemis gets a lot of mainstream press, but these venues are where most of the indoor work actually happens.
It’s a similar process, without the luxury add-ons. You walk a corridor or sit in a lounge, pick someone, and pay her directly. No spa ticket. Room money is either in the session or a few euros at the desk. Typical reported short-time across this tier is €50-€80 / 30 minutes and €80-€150 / hour.
Once again, rates are negotiated with the SW.
A glance at the map reveals that West Berlin still holds the dressier salons around Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf.
Royal Bordell at Bundesplatz 8 and Van Kampen on Forckenbeckstraße are the names that come up most often on punter boards.

Schöneberg mixes kink houses with the street a few blocks away: King George on Grunewaldstraße, the Nollendorfplatz cluster, Europa Salon. Kreuzberg and Neukölln run smaller, cheaper rooms.
Club 44 / Anni Porsche at Mittenwalder Straße 43 is a hybrid cinema-and-rooms address.
Club Lala 203 sits on Sonnenallee. Haus Latina is on Gitschiner Straße. Tiffany, which used to be the name people knew in that corner, is apparently now closed.
Elsewhere, Friedrichshain has the odd party-leaning house and CyBrothel (covered below), the city’s doll-and-VR experiment. The north has Salon Pankow on Mühlenstraße and Club 59 on Behaimstraße. The south (Steglitz, Lankwitz, Lichterfelde) is residential and easy to miss if you only look at Mitte.
Red Light Districts
As we’ve touched on already, a huge swath of Berlin sex work now takes place online.
What’s left of Berlin’s visible street scene is one stretch of Schöneberg plus a handful of leftover corners in Mitte. It’s a far cry from decades gone by!

Kurfürstenstraße
A known spot for sex workers with about 500 metres of pavement through Schöneberg and the southern edge of Tiergarten, from Potsdamer Straße toward Nollendorfplatz, under and beside the U-Bahn. U-Bahn Kurfürstenstraße (U1/U3) dumps you right on it. Nollendorfplatz (U1/U2/U3/U4) is the western end.
Activity also spills onto Frobenstraße, Pohlstraße and stretches of Bülowstraße.
Sex work has sat in this part of town since the 1880s.
Punters here will talk on the pavement, agree a price, then go to a nearby rented cabin or a car. Cabin hire in the corner shops has been reported at a few euros. As low as €1 from one particularly notorious sex shop on the corner.
It’s fair to say, prices here sit at the bottom of the German outdoor band.
Short full service is commonly €30-€50. Oral starts around €20-€30. We’ve seen various reports of a distressed floor well below that (“für 5 Euro alles”).
That is the drug-using end of the street and should be avoided at all costs. CDU-MdA Katharina Senge has called the remaining Verrichtungsboxen under the U-Bahn “Plumpsklos.” Those wooden boxes have been installed, removed and reinstalled more than once. Recent reporting said they were down again.
A large share of the visible scene is unregistered and Eastern European sex workers. Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria come up most, which tallies with the overall national numbers. Put simply, the women standing here are a completely different market from those in the FKK clubs or the online escort directories.
Our advice remains the same: avoid street-based sex work.
Oranienburger Straße
Now a remnant of the past.
After the Wall, this was one of the most visible streets for sex work: complete with squats, galleries, women on the kerb outside the Neue Synagoge. It has been cleaned up in recent years.
Oranienburger is now mostly restaurants and tourist footfall, with a handful of leftover approaches on warm nights.
The Price of Sex in Berlin
Prices for sex in Berlin start at around €20-€50 for a short time on Kurfürstenstraße and run up to €250-€400 an hour with a stronger independent or agency escort.
In reality, there’s no true “upper band” in the VIP market. Some of the best paid courtesans will work just once per month and charge a small fortune to Moneybag Johns.
In between sit the Laufhaus rooms, the private studios and Artemis.
Indoor mid-band prices are roughly comparable with other cities in Germany – but cheaper than Munich.
The street is cheaper than almost every other major German city.
| Service type | Latest Prices | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Kurfürstenstraße short time | €20-€50 | Reported. Cabin or room extra. Oral from €20-€30. The floor here is almost non-existent. Avoid. |
| Laufhaus / salon 30 min | €50-€80 | Cash to the woman. |
| Laufhaus / salon 60 min | €80-€150 | Cash to the woman. |
| Private studio hour | €100-€200 | Apartment books. |
| Artemis door + 30 min | €90 + €70-€90 | Official door €90. €50 Sun/Mon taxi and senior. Sex varies and is negotiated separately. |
| Independent escort hour | €150-€250 | VIP outcalls rise quickly from €250-€400. |
| Erotic massage 60 min | €80-€150 | YMMV! |
| CyBrothel basic hour | from €99 | Voice +€69. Doll, no worker. |
All of these prices are rough estimates. Given the size of Berlin, it’s not uncommon to find sex workers charging under or over the market rates – particularly to tourists.
Erotic Massage Shops
Berlin has a lot of rooms that call themselves “massage”, but you won’t find many female customers stepping inside them!
Some are high-end tantra studios with a much different type of punter. Some are two tables behind a darkened shopfront. If the ending is paid-for and expected, ProstSchG rules still apply: registration, condom rule, house licence if it is run as a business.
Studios (tantra, nuru, booked slots) often charge €80-€150 / 60 minutes. Walk-up salons are cheaper, shorter, and closer to a Laufhaus session with oil. The best way to know that a venue offers happy endings is to read the punter field reports on forums and Reddit beforehand.
If a salon is advertising on the same classified board as working girls and VIP companions… you know what’s up.
We have a separate guide to Erotic Massage Parlours in Berlin – start there for some of the larger established venues with a web presence.

Names that still circulate in Friedrichshain and Charlottenburg include Ekstase on Ebertystraße, the Lietzenburger cluster and the Alt-Moabit tantra rooms.
Masseuse-only houses turn over faster than FKK clubs, so it’s generally best to call ahead or message on WhatsApp.
Sex Clubs In Berlin
Berlin has considerably more sex clubs than most German cities. In fact, it has quite the reputation.
KitKat and Insomnia are some of the most infamous sex clubs in all of Europe, complete with rooms where guests openly have sex with each other. This is not paid sex work… it’s strictly for hedonists!
You pay the door, you follow a dress code, and the rest is left to drunk consenting adults.
Keep in mind though: the dress code is often very strict.
We covered the wider lifestyle scene (smaller swinger clubs, spa nights, private parties) in our guide to Famous Berlin Swinger Clubs.
If you want to make plans for the weekend, Joyclub and SDC are both worth joining. Both are excellent resources for swingers, and primary platforms for where upcoming events are announced.
Obvious sex clubs of interest in Berlin include:
KitKatClub
Köpenicker Straße 76, 10179 Berlin

Open since 1994 and still running a full calendar: CarneBall / PiepShow weekends, Electric Monday, after-hours that start on Sunday morning. Several floors, a pool, play space, phones into a pouch, cash at the bar on a lot of nights.
A highlight is CarneBall Bizarre on Saturday, with doors from 20:00, and this is where the dress code really comes into play. You’ll definitely get turned away in jeans. The published rule is latex, leather, PVC, harness, lingerie worn as clothes, costume, glitter. Electric Monday is the most forgiving.
Wednesday Symbiotikka sits in the middle. It gets so busy here that even a purchased ticket is not a guarantee of entry. Groups larger than two or three get filtered. Door commonly €15-€25 depending on the night.
Full explainer: What Happens at KitKatClub.
Insomnia
Alt-Tempelhof 17-19, 12099 Berlin
https://www.insomnia-berlin.de

A converted ballroom in Tempelhof that turns into one big hedonistic party.
This is more explicitly a lifestyle and kink club: it’s got a dungeon downstairs, and a famously dirty wet area, as well as booked theme nights (Berlin Kink, Unleashed, Young Love, Slave to Rock).
Tuesday to Sunday. We’ve seen recent events with entry posted at €28, but tickets can be grabbed cheaper in advance. As always, couples and dressed single women will find it easier to get in than drunk single blokes.
Full explainer: Insomnia Berlin.
Club Culture Houze
Görlitzer Straße 71, 10997 Berlin
https://www.club-culture-houze.de
Two floors, a packed darkroom, and a free “safer-sex kit” at the bar that says much about what goes on here. Published doors: Monday €15 + €7 membership, Tuesday €22 + €10, Wednesday €15 + €7, Thursday €22 + €10, Friday €28 + €10, weekends can vary.
Recurring nights include Naked Monday (men), Trans Tuesday and Fist Factory Fridays.
Lab.oratory
Am Wriezener Bahnhof, 10243 Berlin (Berghain complex)
This is a famous men-only darkroom and play club in the Berghain yard. Regular nights include Naked Sex Party (Thursday 21:00), Friday Fuck, Puppy Play Saturday and Yellow Facts Sunday. If we look at Friday Fuck door as a recent example: the advertised rate was €15 cash.
Berlin Strip Clubs
With so much legal adult entertainment on offer, you could be forgiven for thinking Berlin might bypass striptease completely. Well… that is NOT the case!
There’s a vibrant local strip bar scene with some interesting economics on display. A private dance will usually cost more than a Laufhaus half-hour.
We already have a guide to Berlin’s Iconic Strip Clubs. Start there for the best clubs to visit.
Here are three popular venues that regularly pull in the stag do crews:
Angels, Schönhauser Allee 5, 10119 Berlin, a few minutes from Alexanderplatz
angels-berlin.com
Official door €20. Daily 22:00-06:00.

Rush Hour, Trautenaustraße 23, Wilmersdorf
rush-hour-berlin.de
About 500 m², three stages, VIP sofas. Advertises 365 nights from 21:30. Venus tickets currently carry a €10 door discount here. Package menus on third-party listings run from a couple of hundred euros for two people into four figures for bottle service.
Tutti Frutti, Yorckstraße 2, on the Kreuzberg / Schöneberg edge
tuttifrutti-berlin.com
Group packages on the house site start at €199 for up to six people (entry, house dollars, six drinks, a stage show) and climb to €500 for a twelve-person “King” package. Hours commonly Tuesday to Saturday from 21:00.
Expect a cover, a mandatory drink, and a private dance well north of a Kurfürstenstraße short-time.
Full service is not advertised at these venues, but it’s well-known that some local dancers moonlight as private companions on the side.
If you want to explore that, it’s a conversation to be had in private. You’re not going to find a public menu.
Local Sex Shops and Adult Stores
tipBerlin counted about 40 active sex shops in the city at the end of 2024.
The high-street chains have had a rough decade of insolvency and shrinking floorplates, but Berlin still has some good independent sex shops to choose from.
Here are some popular local sex shops for your next visit:
Other Nature
Yorckstraße 75, 10965 Berlin

A modern female-friendly take on the sex shop. This is a queer-feminist, vegan, workshop-heavy Kreuzberg store, collectively run since 2021. It moved off Mehringdamm to Yorckstraße a couple of years ago.
Their events calendar lists a raft of polyamory and dirty-talk workshops.
Boldly encourages customers to “bring your mum”… no thank you.
Mon-Tue 12:00-18:00, Wed-Fri 13:00-19:00, Sat 12:00-19:00.
Schwarzer Reiter
Bayreuther Straße 34 / Wormser Straße 6, 10789 Berlin
https://www.schwarzer-reiter.com
Fetish and club couture next to KaDeWe; a venue that fits much more conveniently with the stereotypical associations of Berlin kink.
You can definitely find your next KitKat outfit here!
Mon-Sat 12:00-20:00.
Gorgeous
Schönhauser Allee 130, 10437 Berlin

A gorgeous looking store, indeed! Step into an erotic time warp in this Prenzlauer Berg kiez shop – an eclectic mix of toys, accessories and novelty goods set in an old-fashioned style emporium. Popular since 2004, between S+U Schönhauser Allee and U Eberswalder Straße.
Tuesday to Saturday 11:00-19:00, closed Sunday and Monday.
Chain Options
Fun Factory currently has three Berlin locations: Hackesche Höfe (Rosenthaler Straße 32), Mall of Berlin (Leipziger Platz 12) and Charlottenburg (Wilmersdorfer Straße 62).
Orion still trades as a proper Fachgeschäft chain. The Ostbahnhof shop at Am Ostbahnhof 9 is on the current locator, daily 10:00-20:00. Further Berlin branches include Romain-Rolland-Straße 6-8 in Heinersdorf (Mon-Sat 10:00-19:00) and Siemensdamm 43-44 in Siemensstadt (Mon-Fri 10:00-19:00, Sat 10:00-18:00).
We couldn’t find any active Berlin branches for Beate Uhse. The Zoo-area erotic museum closed years ago and the brand was sold out of insolvency. Seems there is no Berlin shopfront left. 😢
Other Notable Adult Attractions
Berlin is considered a central pillar of Europe’s adult industry.
So it’s no surprise that you’ll find adult attractions and events beyond the basic overflow of brothels and sex clubs.
What else is on offer?
Venus Berlin
The famous erotic trade fair – it’s part trade show and part consumer expo for the adult entertainment sector.
The 29th edition will be held on 22-25 October 2026, and it’s one that we’ll actually be attending. About 34,000 visitors joined for the last cycle – this one promises to be just as big.
Tickets are €61 to €65 when purchased in advance, or €65 at the official rate. There were also some crazy ticket perks when we last checked: 20% off at three LSD erotic markets, €10 off Rush Hour, €10 off Artemis(!).
The event culminates with the Venus Awards, a mainstay in the porn/adult circuit.
Folsom Europe
This is a leather and fetish street fair on Fuggerstraße and Welserstraße in Schöneberg, typically held in September. It’s a huge gathering: sex-positive, and LGBTQ friendly.
The next iteration runs for two days, but it has a week of bar and club satellite events attached.
Dress the part!
CyBrothel
Friedrichshain, near Frankfurter Tor. Address released after booking.

We couldn’t talk about Berlin brothels without mentioning the infamous futuristic sex doll brothel in Friedrichshain – yes, CyBrothel.
It has been all over the news – including on the BBC!
CyBrothel now claims to be Europe’s “first AI brothel”, allowing punters to fully customise companions with the latest tech. The venue itself is discreet with private Doll-and-VR rooms, all booked online, with a self check-in process.
Latest pricing we’ve seen: basic hour from €99 without voice, voice add-on from €69, extra doll from €89, night session from €189 (check-in 22:00, check-out 14:00), early check-in from 20:00 for €59, multi-day from €189 a night with a “fresh doll” each day.
Evening walk-in windows on local listings 20:00-23:00, Monday from 19:00.
Sex Cinemas
Sex cinemas are on the decline in Europe but Berlin still has a good selection. These venues offer hardcore screenings and ample cruising opportunities.
