Looking for sexy fun in the city of Ljubljana?
The capital of Slovenia is a small one and is home to a population of just 280,000 people. The centre of the country’s industries and a major university hub, Ljubljana is the economic heart of this former Balkan state. It covers an area of around 163.8 sq. km making it larger than Paris but with a tenth of the population. Despite the relatively few residents, tourism in the city is healthy and an additional 1.4 million international tourists visit Ljubljana each year. To cater for all kinds of visitors, the city has several adult entertainment venues.
In this guide, we take a look at the adult entertainment scene of Ljubljana and discover more about the city’s strip clubs, sex shops and erotic massage parlours as well as investigate the prostitution laws of Slovenia.
Prostitution Laws in Slovenia
Prostitution in Slovenia was decriminalised in 2003 which means that the business of buying and selling sex in the country is not illegal. As a result, using the services of a prostitute is not a crime. However, the acts of procuring and pimping are against the law and therefore there are no sanctioned brothels in the country.
Despite being legal, there is no official framework in place for regulating and controlling the numbers of sex workers in Slovenia and prostitutes cannot register their work officially.
Researched conducted in 2003 estimated that there were around 3000 prostitutes in the country with around 600 of these being students. Though there are no official figures about the number of sex workers in Ljubljana, it is thought that over half of this figure are providing services in the city. Certainly, as the country’s major university city, it is likely that there are students who are earning extra cash in this way.
Researchers go on to conclude that around 30% of the sex workers in Slovenia are foreign nationals, mainly from Ukraine, Poland and the Czech Republic.
The most common form of prostitution in Ljubljana (and the rest of Slovenia) is in-call and out-call housing prostitution or escorting.
Average rates for a prostitute in the country range widely but can be as low as €50 and €150 for a half hour session. Most escorts who visit hotels will be charging a minimum rate of €100 per hour.
According to the most recent (2013) studies conducted on the industry, the prostitution trade in Slovenia generates around €200 million which represents 0.33% of the country’s GDP.

Sex in Ljubljana

Brothels
Brothels are not legal in Slovenia and you won’t find any official bordellos in the city; however, the trip across the border to Austria takes just over an hour and you can find a couple of government regulated venues in the border towns of Villach and Klagenfurt. In addition, there are bars in Ljubljana that are reported to offer services similar to those you would find in a brothel. Some are located in the city whilst others are a short drive away. In general, there is no guarantee that you can get service at these venues as the legal situation means they are often closed down or the ladies move to operate from other locations.
Sauna Clubs
There are a couple of sauna clubs in Slovenia that are similar to the FKK venues that you can find in Germany. One is located about 25 minutes south west of the city in the town of Vrhnika.

A gentlemen’s club and spa about 20km away from the city, the Wellness Centre in Močilnik has excellent reviews. It offers a sexy but relaxing break for singles and couples who want to spend some time surrounded by beautiful girls. Although it is not a brothel, the girls are all working women. Plenty of private play occurs on site as well as some not so private.

The Wellness Centre is open as follows:
- Sunday to Thursday: Midday to 1.00am
- Friday and Saturday: Midday to 3.00am
Swingers Clubs
There are two main swingers’ clubs in Slovenia, one in Ljubljana and the other being an hour’s drive to the western border at Sezana. We’ve provided the details of both however you can find local contacts for dogging and swinging opportunities around Ljubljana via the Adult Hub.
Spicy Moments
With the club’s website being down it is unclear if this venue is still operating, however they are still listed in several European swingers’ directories.
If they are still holding meetings then, according to reports, only accept guests who are ‘slim and attractive’ and under the age of 40. They are a couples and single ladies club only.
Opening hours are listed as being daily from 6.00pm to 6.00am.
Sun Garden

Similarly, reviews for the Sun Garden are also a little dated but the club is still running. Situated about 70km to the west of Ljubljana they do offer overnight accommodation.
Facilities at the Sun Garden include a nudist ‘beach’ with open pool, outside terrace with barbecue as well as jacuzzi, sauna and private relaxation rooms. It’s quite a large club and covers a total area of 1000 sq. m with a maximum occupancy of around 80 couples.
Prices for admission are as follows:
- Singe ladies €30
- Couples €60
- Single men €60 (Thursday), €120 (Friday) and €90 (Sunday)
The hire of a private double room for the night is an extra €50.
The club has been open since 2007 and runs parties from Thursday to Sunday between 4.00pm and midnight. The venue is couples only on Saturdays and also for the popular New Year’s Eve parties.
Erotic Massage Parlours
There are some good erotic massage parlours in Ljubljana each offering a decent range of services at reasonably low prices. There are also some Thai massages available too.
Strip Clubs
There are quite a few night clubs in Ljubljana but only two where you can get a strip show. Several clubs that previously offered nude and topless dancing have since closed.
Hardcore Club

The Hardcore Club has been open since 2006 and provides an excellent night out for bachelor parties, birthdays and other celebrations. It has won several awards over the years as the best strip club in Ljubljana and has a good reputation with both locals and tourists.
They host regular theme nights and events, details of which can be found on the website, that range from BDSM parties to Halloween celebrations and even the popular ‘Meet a Pornstar’ nights.
They offer a free taxi in the city as well as limo services, VIP areas and other offers. They have a big central bar on which dancers also perform as well as offering guests the opportunity to pay for a ‘Body Shot’ (hard liquor taken from the naked body of a performer). There is also a stage area on which live acts are performed including the popular ‘Dildo Show’.
Table dances start from around €40.
The Hardcore Club is open from 9.00pm to 5.00am Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays.
Club Rocco

Club Rocco in Ljubljana is one of two branded strip clubs in Slovenia, the other being in Maribor; the latter opening over 15 years ago.
It’s an intimate venue but there are plenty of private spaces to get a one-on-one performance. The central stage area is surrounded by booths with a table that may be curtained off and there are also VIP rooms.
However, Club Rocco is not as popular as the Hardcore Club with some negative feedback on the quality of the dancers being published in online forums and reviews. With the benefit of the doubt, some of these comments have been left a while ago and there is a good balance from those guests who had positive things to say.
Club Rocco is open as follows:
- Saturday to Wednesday: 10.00pm to 4.00am
- Thursday and Friday: 10.00pm to 5.00am
Street Prostitutes & Red-Light Districts
Street prostitution in Slovenia is very rare with most prostitutes offering their services as escorts, visiting their clients in private residences or hotels. As with many European cities, street prostitution has largely been replaced by advertising using the internet.
As a result, there are no red-light areas in Ljubljana.
Sex Shops
In keeping with modern trends, the majority of trade in sex toys is conducted online with several companies offering discreet home-delivery. Ljubljana does have a couple of sex shops where you can pick up the basics and some novelty items. None of them are specialist stores but they each offer a good range of many bedroom favourites including vibrators, dildos, dolls and sexual health aids.
It is worth noting that none of them are open on Sundays and most close early on Saturday, if they are open at the weekend at all. The exception is Lolita in the north-east of the city that is open until 8.00pm, Monday to Saturday.
