If you are staying in Sofia and thinking of scouring the city for adult entertainment then don’t go anywhere until you’ve read this guide.
We take a look at the kinds of venues in Sofia where sexy services are for sale.
You can also find out more about sex in Bulgaria by reading our online guide.
Sofia is a big city and home to 1.7 million Bulgarians. A popular tourist destination, the capital and largest city in Bulgaria, Sofia offers a lot of diverting activities. From the local ski resort at Vitosha mountain to the numerous bars, clubs and restaurants, museums, galleries and monuments there is plenty to do. Culturally, Sofia is only a few decades out of its communist period but, though there is still evidence of this in some of the architecture, there is little to suggest the culture isn’t as westernised as its neighbours.
Bordered by Turkey and Greece to the South, Romania to the North and Serbia to the west, Bulgaria sits on the Black Sea and takes its influences from both the Middle East as well as the West. An historic city, Sofia has a rich cultural heritage that sparks Romanticism in many visitors. However, it is eroticism that the city has come to evoke when tourists start to explore the real nightlife.
Prostitution in Sofia
Prostitution in Bulgaria isn’t illegal but the legislation covering it is quite grey. Running brothels, pimping and generally earning money from the sex work of others are all prohibited but do still happen.
It is estimated that there are around 20,000 women working as prostitutes in the country with at least 8,000 of these providing services in and around the Sofia region.
Some find work as escorts whist others double up as dancers and performers in the city’s clubs and bars.
Rates for a hooker vary and can be as low as €10-€15 from the streets up to €100 for an escort (whilst elite models may charge more).
Sofia Escorts Guide
A handful of escort directories serve the Sofia market, although we cannot link to them due to the aforementioned legal grey area.
Sex in Sofia
Brothels
Most of the big brothels have recently closed down and the hope is that they will be replaced but you can still find in-calls available at various clubs in Sofia. Not your traditional variety of walk-in brothel where you can choose a girl from a line-up and retire to a private room, they are run as clubs where you engage the services of an independent girl for ‘massage’ or a private dance.
There are also several private brothels where independent prostitutes entertain clients in rented rooms but details of these change all the time.
Here are some clubs with a distinctly adult vibe…
Club Fetish
Vitosha Blvd 4, Sofia
Established in 1997, Club Fetish is a strip club in the heart of the city just a few minutes’ walk from the National Theatre.
The club specialises in kinky shows and has a range of performances including uniform, military and latex themes. The main stage features around 20 girls every night and there are a couple of dozen women who work the venue for business. The S&M and lesbian shows are pretty steamy and should help get you in the right mood.
There is a jacuzzi on site and most of the girls also offer massage services.
Club Fetish is open daily from 9.00pm to 4.00am.

The erotic bar has professionally choreographed shows that provide some of Sofia’s best adult entertainment. There are about twenty performers giving a range of acrobatic shows including a popular vibrator piece.
It’s not a huge place and the décor is a little odd, in parts evoking Egyptian themes but combined with a neon lit modern interior, but the place has reasonable reviews.
A range of girls can also be booked for companion services.
The Erotic Bar is open every day from 10.00pm until the early hours.
Men’s Paradise
19 Karnigradska Str, Sofia
Men’s Paradise is a new bar in Sofia where you can enjoy topless entertainment. The place has a retro feel to it with black lights, neon tubes and seventies disco floor stage.
There are no sexual services offered at Men’s Paradise but it has been known for girls to do more than just dance in a private session.
The club is open seven days a week from 10.30pm to 5.00am (7.00am on Friday and Saturday).
Bar Kama Sutra
bul. Kniaz Aleksandar Dondukov 19, 1000 Sofia
Bar Kama Sutra couldn’t do any more to advertise itself as an erotic club. The place is stuffed with half naked ladies and decorated with figures in bedroom positions you can only find on the dark side of the web.
The club runs some promotions which are available online including an all-inclusive ticket which entitles you to free drinks and a free lap dance.
Bar Kama Sutra is open daily from 10.00pm to 5.00am.
Peep Show Bar 1 & 2
“Lavov Most” Square №7 and Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. 33, Sofia

The bars are open from 11.00pm to 5.00am, Monday to Saturday.
Street Prostitutes
There is no official red light area in Sofia but most of the city’s sex venues are located around the Vitocha Boulevard though you won’t find street prostitutes here.
Many of the women on the streets are Romani and charge less than €20 for a full service.
