Kharkiv (sometimes known by its Russian name, Kharkov), is the second largest city in Ukraine and was the country’s capital city until 1934. It is situated in the north east of the country about 40km from the Russian border. It is the seat of the country’s education industry and has 13 universities and 80 libraries. As you would expect from a city with a huge student population, Kharkiv has plenty of nightlife with hundreds of bars, nightclubs and entertainment venues.

Prostitution in Kharkiv
Prostitution is illegal in Kharkiv and, though widespread in most parts of Ukraine, the city authorities have tried hard to clamp down on visible aspects of this trade, eradicating much of the street prostitution scenes.
Though selling sex is against the law, the punishments for breaking it are lenient and constitute an administrative offence rather than a criminal one. Hookers are issued with small fines that equate to around €10 which barely amounts to an hour’s work for most women.
Most sex workers in Kharkiv are either Ukrainian or Russian although there are also other Eastern Europeans too, including Belarusian, Lithuanian, Moldovan and Romanian. It is not uncommon to find Turkish and Bulgarian, as well as some Western, hookers.
The city has plenty of escorts and many students work as freelance hookers to help raise the money they need to continue their studies. The most common way of picking up clients is online or in the city’s many bars and clubs.
Professional escorts tend to charge between €50 and €100 per hour with some more elite ladies having rates over €200 per hour. However, sex in the massage parlours or from the streets can be as low as €15 to €30.
The reason for the low prices is the high risk. We recommend you steer well clear of the streets.

Kharkiv is well served by escorts and there is a good choice of women from all backgrounds, nationalities and ages. Most of the directories offer the services of independent escorts although there are some agency girls too.
The selection of escorts covers a broad range of services including some that offer BDSM, T-girls, A-levels and speciality roleplay. There are no guarantees and you should certainly be discreet if you do get approached in one of these clubs as the management do not tolerate prostitution on the premises. Swinging Clubs
Swinging is not common in Ukraine and there are no clubs in Kharkiv. There are couples who do take part in the lifestyle, but this is usually within trusted circles with new members being by invitation only. There aren’t as many strip clubs in Kharkiv as there used to be with just two main venues left to entertain gents with their ‘crazy menus’.
Casta Men’s Club

Opened in 2007, the Casta has earned itself a strong reputation as one of Ukraine’s top five strip clubs. It’s a stylish and modern venue although it won’t be the largest club you have ever visited. The cosy interior actually helps create a bit more intimacy between guests and the dancers and, as long as you can find somewhere comfortable to sit, you can easily spend the whole night here.
The shows are artfully choreographed and have some thought behind them as opposed to those clubs where girls simply gyrate at leisure. And, the girls themselves all have some talent in addition to being selected for their athletic bodies.
The Casta has several private rooms where you can get a private dance or choose something special from the ‘Crazy Menu’. There is also a VIP suite for larger groups. A private dance will cost you 500 UAH/€15.50 for one song and an hour in the VIP suite will set you back 1000 UAH/€31.
Admission charges of 200 UAH/€6.20 (men) and 500 UAH/€15.50 apply.

Perfumer Men’s Club
Complex “Arcade”, Alekseevsky Lugopark, Lane Bukovy, 27, Kharkiv
Styled after the German novel, ‘Perfume: The Story of a Murderer’, the interior of this trendy strip club in Kharkiv is elegant and inspired by bourgeoisie French chateaus.
Perfumer is more than just a strip club as the complex also has two restaurants, a Russian bathhouse as well as providing accommodation.
The strip club has around 30 girls performing who rotate on the stage and around the club to entertain guests.
It’s a popular club and one that attracts a lot of Western tourists so be prepared to get here early to get good seats, although the best action doesn’t kick off until later.
The club opens at 9.00pm and stays open until the early hours of the morning.
Best of the Rest
Though not a strip club or a gentlemen’s club, Misto does have some sexy entertainment which can include stripping. It’s not every night so you will need to check the website for the current schedule of events but they also host beauty pageants and burlesque performances. It’s a good club with some interesting entertainment.
Likewise, the Bolero Club also has some adult entertainment but it’s not regular. Again, it has a good party atmosphere as well as a karaoke bar. You can certainly get a good night out here and the main stage shows are usually worth the entrance fee.
Street Prostitutes and Red-Light Districts
There are no red light districts in Kharkiv and, following a series of police raids and major clampdown operations, street prostitution is now almost gone. Rudneva Square was a popular haunt for hookers in the past but this is no longer the case.
Sex Shops
There are plenty of sex shops in Kharkiv where you can find a range of essentials for the bedroom as well as novelty items, toys, DVDs, magazines and sexual aids. You can also find a basic stock of items in most pharmacies n Ukraine such as condoms, lubes and even enhancement products like Viagra which don’t require a prescription. Some pharmacies also sell basic cock rings and pocket sized vibrators.
Sex Shop
This chain of sex shops has nine stores around Kharkiv, each having a good selection of sex toys, bedroom aids and performance enhancers. If you don’t find what you are looking for in one then it is worth asking the sales staff as they may well have stock in another branch. In addition, they have a warehouse in Kharkiv so they may well be able to order in.
