Prostitution in Oslo: The Law
Sex work in Norway is illegal though prostitution itself is decriminalised; effectively, paying for, advertising and soliciting sex is against the law but selling it is not.
A Sex Purchase Ban was introduced in the country in January 2009, aimed at reducing the number of street hookers, and carries the risk of a hefty €3,200 fine for those caught trying to buy services.
Though this makes prostitution rare and hard to find, it does still exist in Norway. As ever, escorts can get around this technicality by offering ‘companionship’. Street prostitution is often provided by immigrants to the country.

There is a VIP area for private dances as well as a large stage area.
The Xposed show bar is open Monday to Saturday from 10pm to 3.30am.
Lotus Show Bar
Dronningens gate 17, 0154 Oslo
Self-advertising as Oslo’s best strip club, the Lotus has a reputation for providing an intimate experience when it comes to private dances. The club is small but modern and is lit well with every seat in the house having a good view.
Private dances start from around 700 NOK (€75).
The Lotus is open seven days a week from 8pm to 3am.
String Show Bar

Established in 1998, Strings is one of the oldest strip clubs in Oslo and has won the Best International Club of the Year. It is a stylish and relaxed venue where plenty of business is mixed with pleasure.
The String show bar is open Monday to Saturday from 9pm to 3am.
Night Life Bar

The Night Life Bar is a busy club offering private dances in a variety of ways. Entrance is charged at 150 NOK (€16) and private dances start at 1000 NOK (€107).
The Night Life Bar is open Monday to Saturday from 8.00pm to 3.30am.
Street Prostitutes
As a result of the 2009 ban, street prostitution in Oslo has dramatically reduced.
Rates for a service vary greatly depending on the ethnicity of the hooker with the average being in the region of 1500 NOK (€160) for full service, or for around 300 NOK (€32) for oral.
