What’s all the fuss about with Swedish Women? Are they really as beautiful as the media has us believe?
Ranking 6th in the world when it comes to the number of top models per capita, it’s true; Sweden is blessed with some very good looking women. Combined with a reputation for liberal attitudes and funky dress sense, Swedish girls are high on the list of any sex tourists ‘To Do’ list.

What Does the Typical Swedish Woman Look Like?

There isn’t any good reason why the media portrays Swedish women as tall, svelte blonde creatures and actually only around 1 in 5 women in Sweden have fair hair; the majority are a light brunette.
As for tall, the average height is 5’ 5” and you can kiss svelte goodbye with over half of Swedish women officially ranking on the WHO scale as overweight. The typical body shape is womanly with curvy hips, round thighs and a sturdy ass. For sure, there are always exceptions to the norm and of course you can find the stunningly tall, blonde, blue eyed model types but try to lower this expectation so you won’t be disappointed.
Just as there is no ‘average’ man, the look and styles of Swedish women is very diverse but for the most part the current style for the under 30s is quite hip and edgy.
Tattoos and piercings are common and girls don’t tend to wear ultra-feminine clothes like dresses and skirts. Even when heading out to the city, the style can be a little utilitarian and casual at times. What’s the Best Approach with a Swedish Woman?
A direct approach is the best tactic and being open and friendly is key.
We’d suggest having a wing man on a night out and try to get invited along with a large group of both Swedish men and women.
It’s quite common for women and men to take to the city together even if they aren’t involved with one another so don’t back off from a mixed group. This keeps the atmosphere safe and relaxed and provides a good backdrop for scoping out the singles and building up your game plan; from the initial overt flirt to the big guns.
When it comes to the final approach, as with any clincher, it’s worth getting her away from her group for some privacy. Be bold, take the initiative and just let her go with the flow. If you are on a big night out, then saving the classic ‘drinks back at mine’ move is always a good one.
Where’s the Best Place in Stockholm for a Hook Up?
There are lots of bars, pubs and clubs around Stockholm and plenty of them have a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
However, the best areas in the city for nightlife are the old town of Gamla Stan, Stureplan and Medborgarplatsen in Sodermalm.
All three areas attract a good mix of local 20-40 year olds across a range of backgrounds. Stureplan is a bit more of an upmarket area and you will find the calibre of woman much higher here (and harder to crack the icier exterior of). Gamlas Stan and Sodermalm are both popular with tourists so in the summer and high-winter they can both get quite crowded.
Kvarnen
Kvarnen on the Medborgarplatsen has an outdoor garden and serves cheap beer to a lively crowd of guys and girls. The place is popular with hipsters and the age range here is very much in the early twenties. They also serve good food and you can easily spend an entire evening here or make it a good starting point before heading out on the town. Opening hours are:
- Monday and Tuesday: 11.00am to 1.00am
- Wednesday to Friday: 11.00am to 3.00am
- Saturday: Midday to 3.00am
- Sunday: Midday to 1.00am
Huset Under Bron
An underground club (techno music scene, not actually subterranean) at Skanstull, the vibe here is one of pure hedonism. The place is open until 5am and gets very busy after midnight with queues forming from about 12.30am onwards. The game here is very open and it is a great spot to hit up if you have staying power until the small hours. The girls here are very open to advances and are usually single and looking for no strings attached fun.
Riche
Nicknamed the ‘divorcee bar’, Riche is a good place to spot to hang out if you are looking for Swedish cougars or some skirt on the mature side. It is a cocktail bar that has some sophistication so you will need your glad rags on here but the atmosphere is good. The women can be less easy to break down and there can be an aloof attitude that can be mistaken for the flick off; it’s only meant to make you try harder.
