Marseille Sex Guide

Updated on:

Once a bustling hive of activity for sex including several strip clubs, massage parlours and sex salons, Marseille’s adult industry is in decline. Whether a result of the change in prostitution laws in 2016 or simply a case of reduced demand, there are only a handful of places to get your rocks off on this port city.

Still, Marseille has a reputation for being a party town and has always had an active night life.

This guide takes a look at the options available for adult entertainment in Marseille including libertine clubs, strip joints and the prevailing laws.

Marseille Escorts Guide

The laws on prostitution in France changed in April 2016 making it illegal to buy the services of a sex worker but not for these same services to be made available. Whilst street prostitution is still rife, fines of up to €1500 are charged for anyone procuring sex.

Escort services, as ever, get around this technicality in law by offering ‘companion’ services and you can find plenty of escorts advertising online.

Due to the strict advertising laws in place, we cannot link to any Marseille escorts, agencies or related services.

Brothels

There are no legal brothels in Marseille.

Some strip club dancers may offer services privately, though this isn’t openly advertised (and YMMV).

Similarly, erotic massage parlors, often staffed by Chinese and Thai workers, may provide extras, but it’s best to inquire discreetly. Or use the classifieds / Reddit to do your research beforehand.

Another option is apartment brothels, where multiple escorts work from the same location.

These setups, sometimes called mini-bordellos, operate under the radar and offer services ranging from €50 to €250, depending on the girl. While Marseille doesn’t have a structured red-light district, sex is still very much on the menu.

Private Clubs

Also known as Libertine clubs or private salons, swinging is a big lifestyle choice in France and Marseille has a few good clubs where you can go as a couple or a singleton to enjoy casual sex.

Eden Private Club Shena Parai

16 rue thubaneau 13001 Marseille

The Queen of the Marseille X, Shena Parai is a transsexual escort operating from her own private club, Eden.

You have to contact Shena to find out about a private meeting to experience all that the ‘third sex’ has to offer but reviews are good and her club is well appointed.

Erotic Massage Parlours

Some massage parlors discreetly offer extras, making them a hidden part of the city’s sex scene.

Some of them aren’t particularly *discreet* about it either.

Most massage salons are staffed by Chinese women, with a few Thai providers as well. Standard massages range from €40 to €80, while extras like handjobs (€20-50) or oral (€20-50) come at an extra cost. Full-service sex is available in some places, typically for €50 to €100. However, “naturist massages tend to be overpriced and rarely include anything beyond a basic happy ending.

For a more intimate experience, many independent escorts in Marseille also offer erotic body rubs. In fact, for many, it’s the primary service they advertise on the classifieds.

Strip Clubs

Marseille has a few clubs where customers can often find more than just a lap dance on the menu. The clubs often have dimly lit areas for private dances and there are plenty of girls working here that will do extras for good tips.

The ‘Olympic Garden of Eden’ is a mix of strip club come discotheque, sauna and swinging club. Open from 2pm from Wednesday to Saturday, the club offers a good opportunity for a casual encounter.

Street Prostitutes

As a port city with a lot of immigration, Marseille has always had a reputation for prostitution and, though there is no official red-light district, there are areas where street prostitutes are known to operate.

Customers can expect to pay around €50 for full sex but don’t expect more than about 15 minutes of their time. Extras can be negotiated including BJ, anal and ‘natural’ services.

Do bear in mind that the law prohibits the purchase of sex.
